Seven men were shot and hospitalized late Saturday after gunfire rang out in Oakland, police said.
As police arrived on scene near 7700 Bancroft Ave. around 11:45 p.m., they reported hearing shots being fired before finding at least three people suffering from gunshot wounds. Witnesses told police that the remaining victims had already been transported to the hospital.
The seven victims range in age from 27 to 45 years old. One victim has been released from the hospital while six remain hospitalized, police said.
No officers were injured during the shooting, police said.
The Oakland Police Department will continue to investigate before providing a scheduled update at 7 a.m. on Monday.
